Pastor Kenneth Wieting has served Luther Memorial Chapel and University Student Center in Shorewood WI since 1990. His first parish (1982-1990) was Trinity Lutheran Church, Wautoma WI and Grace Lutheran Church, Hancock WI. Pastor Wieting received his MDiv degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis (1982) and his DMin from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne (2003). Prior to entering the seminary he served in the Air Force from 1972-1975, received a Colloquy degree from Concordia, Seward in 1976 and taught and coached at Lutheran High School, North in St. Louis from 1976-1979.
He and Barbara (nee Leftwich, pictured) received God’s gift of marriage on April 15, 1983 and God has blessed them with five children. His first publication was a booklet of communion announcements highlighting the loving practice of closed communion with appropriate seasonal illustrations provided by Barbara. Most recently Concordia Publishing House published a book he authored entitled The Blessings of Weekly Communion (2006) also illustrated by Barbara. CPH also included his essay in another book entitled Liturgical Preaching (2000). Some of his articles and sermons have also been published in periodicals including The Lutheran Witness, The Reporter, For the Life of the World, Higher Things, Gottesdeinst, and Logia.
