Sexual Temptation.  It’s all around us – displayed on primetime television, daytime dramas, magazines, billboards, and especially on the internet.  We live in a society that has desensitized us to sexual impurity.  Thus, we often fail to recognize its danger to us and its offense to God.

Why is internet pornography so dangerous?  It is accessible, affordable, and anonymous.  Internet pornography is a multi-billion dollar industry aimed at attracting users regardless of age or gender, and it seeks users out who aren’t even looking for it.  Its use is progressive.  It is addictive.  Some have labeled it “the new crack cocaine.”

The Bible alerts us to how secrecy affects the progression of sin (Ephesians 4:17-24; 5:11-16) and where our hope to deal with temptations and sinful activity is found (2 Peter 1:3-4; 1 Corinthians 5:1-5; 1 John 3:1a).

Christians need to be aware of the sinful trends of our world.  We are responsible to one another in the body of Christ to protect each other and offer help.  This presentation is for everyone – teens and parents, men and women, pastors and parishioners.  This presentation will help prepare you to address the sinful temptations of our high-tech world in a Christ-centered way.  As the apostle Peter says, “Always be prepared to give an answer to anyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope that is in you.”  (1 Peter 3:15)

What should you say to someone who reveals to you that they are struggling with sexual temptation on the internet?

Lutheran Student Fellowship @ UW-Milwaukee invites you to come hear Ted Kober – distinguished presenter, author, and president of Ambassadors of Reconciliation – speak on the topic: “Responding to Sexual Temptation in a High Tech Society” on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 on campus at UW-Milwaukee.  All are invited and encouraged to attend this FREE presentation; it is open to the public!  What is taught here will definitely help you help others.  Please join us at 6:00pm in the UWM Union – Ballroom (1st level).  Parking is available in the Union Parking garage, entrance located off of Kenwood Boulevard.
