Hello Kathryn, Pastor, and all at LMC, Though I have not forgotten to pray for all of you, guilty and remorseful are two words to describe how awful I feel about never writing or sending pictures, and for being an all-around lousy former vicar. Forgive me, please. I will grovel if I have to. Despite the information blackout, things actually have been happening in our lives. We are permanently back in the States; I've finished my research for my doctorate in church history at the University of Hamburg. We spent a lovely two years abroad. I'm currently busy writing my dissertation on the Lutheran interpretation of the Epistle of James.

LMC's Sunday School is in need of volunteer Sunday School teachers for the next school year!
* Sunday School runs from September 2010 through May 2011. * Children age 3 through 12 are enrolled in Sunday School. * Team teaching positions are available, in which you could teach twice a month, or even just one of the trimesters, or you might choose to be a full time teacher.
Teaching Sunday School involves attending Sunday School teachers' meetings, preparing and studying for teaching the weekly lesson, and assisting with the Sunday School Christmas program.

Dear Everyone at Luther Memorial Chapel, Hello! As you may know, the Youth Group recently traveled to Nashville, Tennessee for a Higher Things Youth Conference. Including our friends Cacia, Sara, and Andy from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Watertown, there was a total of eleven youth on our journey. Of our own youth group, Elizabeth, Sophia, Aleksandra, John, Mark, Alden, Brennick, and Minte attended the conference, as well as our esteemed chaperones Mark and Kate Paterson. We all had an absolutely smashing time. The youth group is especially thankful to God for providing us with wonderful chaperones, Mark and Kate, who had to put up with us for an entire week--and did so without complaining. We are also grateful to the Lord for this congregation and all that you did in support of our trip. We had a fantastic time, and it wouldn't have happened without the grace of God working through our friends and family. |
