Eyes Toward Christ
My eyes are ever toward the Lord (Psalm 25:15). But are they? The third Sunday in Lent calls for that focus for our vision and attention, and how we need it! By nature our attention is focused on ourselves and our stuff and our worries. By nature our eyes view God with sinful fear or apathetic indifference and most of all blindness.

My eyes are ever toward the Lord. This is true only because God’s eyes have graciously looked toward our desperate need in His Son. This is true only because the eyes of Jesus closed in death after He bore the gaze of God’s burning wrath on Calvary. This is true only because the risen Christ opened the eyes of faith in us baptizing us into His death.
My eyes are ever toward the Lord for the good work that He has begun in me He will bring to completion in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
