The Holy Trinity is not a mathematical formula that we are to analyze and attempt to compute.  We are reminded by God's revelation that His being and His thoughts are above our thoughts as far as the heavens are above the earth (Isaiah 55:8-9).  We finite humans cannot know His mind or be His counselor (Romans 11:34).  What we can know is what He reveals to us!  And that is a joyous and gracious wonder!  When we see the Holy Trinity at work, He is at work for our salvation.  The Father is well-pleased with the Son's incarnation in order to become sin for us and suffer our penalties of death and damnation.  In Fact the Father gave His Son for this purpose out of love for this lost and condemned world (John 3:16).  The Holy Spirit anointed Jesus for His work and now testifies to Him and His work of redemption and His ongoing presence to teach and forgive and heal us.

The Holy Trinity is not a mathematical formula that we are to analyze and attempt to compute.  The Holy Trinity is love in action - searching - inviting - forgiving us sinners through the flesh of the Son of God and through the words by which He blesses us!  Recjoice this day that you are clothed in Christ (Galatians 3:27) - baptized into His very death (Romans 6:3-4).  Rejoice this day that you are baptized in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
