Luther said "No worldly joy is so great and glorious that it is not mixed with sorrow, or that sorrow does not follow it."  (What Luther says - #2133).

This is not true of the Joy that God gives us in the birth of a Savior - Christ the Lord!

"This Child, though weak in infancy, Our confidence and joy shall be, The pow'r of Satan breaking, Our peace with God now making."  (LSB #378, st. 1)
"Joyful, all ye nations rise, Join the triumph of the skies; With the angelic host proclaim, "'Christ is born in Bethlehem..."  (LSB #380. st. 1)
"Now sing we, now rejoice, Now raise to heav'n our voice; He from whom joy streameth - Poor in a manger lies..." (LSB #386)
