Dr. Richard Eyer and his wife, Susan, began and ended this unique presentation with demonstrations of ballroom dancing. The nice crowd in attendance was treated to a fine display of skillful dancing, aspects of which Dr. Eyer related to God’s beautiful gift of marriage.

His talk lovingly expressed the God-given substance of marriage that living together cannot give. He also spoke in-depth of what it means for the husband to lead and the wife to follow – relating biblical truths to parallels of a couples’ movement in dance. As in dancing, husbands act as the frame of a picture displaying the thing of beauty – the wife. As Christ forgives His Bride, the Church, Dr. Eyer emphasized that ongoing forgiveness between husband and wife is crucial to this one-flesh relationship. Several copies of Dr. Eyer’s book Marriage Is Like Dancing (CPH, 2007) were given as door prizes. A good number of those in attendance stayed another 45 minutes for swing dance lessons provide by the Fred Astaire Dance Studio. (More pictures of the event here)
