Not everyone can say that they have lived through a "great awakening" that has reshaped their society and culture. However, if you are reading these sentences, you can claim this for the simple fact that you indeed have. You have already gone through a seismic religio-political shift in America. We may not yet have hindsight's clarifying distance, but Christians need to know what the "Great Awokening" fundamentally is, the challenges this shift presents to the Church, and how we ought to respond.
